Cleanout Sales — Returns & Refunds Policy
Last Updated: August 17, 2026
At Cleanout Sales, many of the items we offer are one-of-a-kind, used, vintage, antique, estate, surplus, open-box, previously owned, or acquired through cleanouts and similar situations.
Because of the nature of our inventory, ALL SALES ARE FINAL unless otherwise expressly stated by Cleanout Sales or required by applicable law.
1. No Returns or Exchanges for Change of Mind
Once an item has been successfully purchased, we generally do not accept returns, exchanges, or cancellations because:
-
You changed your mind;
-
You no longer want or need the item;
-
The item does not fit your space;
-
You found the item elsewhere for a different price;
-
You failed to review the listing, photographs, measurements, or condition;
-
You expected a different color, appearance, age, condition, or characteristic that was reasonably visible or disclosed in the listing; or
-
You purchased the item without inspecting it when an in-person purchase option was available.
Buyers should review the full listing and all photographs carefully before completing a purchase.
2. Items Are Generally Sold AS IS
Unless a listing specifically states otherwise, all merchandise is sold:
AS IS, WHERE IS, WITH ALL FAULTS.
Items may show normal wear, age, cosmetic damage, previous repairs, missing packaging, missing accessories, unknown service history, or other imperfections consistent with used or previously owned merchandise.
Cleanout Sales makes reasonable efforts to describe and photograph items accurately, but photographs and descriptions should be considered part of the buyer’s inspection process.
3. Buy In-Person Option
When available, buyers who would prefer to inspect an item before purchasing may use the Buy In-Person option.
Submitting a Buy In-Person request does not reserve or purchase an item.
If condition, size, appearance, functionality, or another characteristic is especially important to you, we encourage you to request an in-person purchase opportunity before buying online.
The item may still be sold to another buyer before an in-person appointment or hold is confirmed.
4. When Cleanout Sales May Issue a Refund
Although sales are generally final, Cleanout Sales may issue a refund when we determine that circumstances justify one, including situations where:
-
Payment was collected but the item was no longer available;
-
The buyer was charged more than once for the same transaction;
-
A material pricing or system error affected the transaction;
-
The wrong item was provided to the buyer;
-
A material listing error substantially misrepresented the item;
-
Cleanout Sales is unable to complete the transaction;
-
Cleanout Sales agrees in writing to accept a return or cancellation; or
-
A refund is required by applicable law.
Whether an error or difference is considered material will depend on the circumstances.
Minor cosmetic differences, normal wear, approximate measurements, photography differences, or other non-material variations generally do not qualify for a refund.
5. Damaged, Incorrect, or Materially Misdescribed Items
If you believe an item you received is materially different from the listing or that Cleanout Sales provided the wrong item, contact us as soon as reasonably possible.
Please include:
-
Your receipt number;
-
The item name;
-
A description of the issue; and
-
Photographs when relevant.
Do not dispose of, alter, repair, disassemble, modify, or resell the item while a refund request is under review unless Cleanout Sales instructs you otherwise.
Cleanout Sales may request an opportunity to inspect the item before approving a refund.
6. Used, Vintage, Antique and Collectible Items
Age, maker, origin, authenticity, material, period, attribution, or similar characteristics may sometimes be based on markings, appearance, provenance, prior ownership information, research, or other information reasonably available to Cleanout Sales.
Unless a listing specifically states that an item has been independently authenticated, certified, tested, or appraised by a qualified third party, buyers should not assume such independent verification has occurred.
Ordinary age-related wear, patina, oxidation, crazing, scratches, finish loss, repairs, restoration, or similar characteristics of vintage or antique merchandise are not automatically grounds for a refund.
7. Electronics, Appliances, Tools and Mechanical Items
Unless expressly stated otherwise in the listing, used electronics, appliances, tools, mechanical equipment, and similar items may have unknown service history or remaining useful life.
If a listing states that an item was tested, that statement reflects the testing described or reasonably performed before sale and is not a guarantee of future performance.
If functionality is important, buyers should review the listing carefully and use the Buy In-Person option when available.
8. Pickup and Transportation
Once an item has been picked up, buyers are responsible for safely loading, securing, transporting, and handling the item unless Cleanout Sales has expressly agreed to provide those services.
Damage occurring after the buyer takes possession of the item is not grounds for a refund.
Buyers should bring appropriate vehicles, equipment, packing materials, and assistance for large or heavy items.
9. Abandoned or Uncollected Purchases
Purchased items must be picked up or otherwise transferred according to the arrangements confirmed with Cleanout Sales.
If a buyer fails to collect an item within an agreed or reasonable period, Cleanout Sales may contact the buyer regarding alternative arrangements.
We may adopt additional storage, abandonment, cancellation, or disposal rules for uncollected merchandise and will communicate any applicable terms before taking such action.
10. Payment Disputes and Chargebacks
If you believe there is a problem with a transaction, please contact Cleanout Sales before initiating a payment dispute or chargeback so we have an opportunity to review and resolve the issue.
Fraudulent or abusive chargebacks may result in account restrictions and may be disputed using transaction records, listing information, communications, pickup records, photographs, and other available documentation.
Nothing in this section limits any rights you may have under applicable payment-card or consumer-protection laws.
11. Approved Refunds
If Cleanout Sales approves a refund, we will generally issue it through the original payment method when reasonably possible.
Processing time after a refund is issued may depend on the payment provider or financial institution.
Approval of a refund in one situation does not create an obligation to provide refunds in unrelated transactions.
12. Your Legal Rights
This policy does not limit any consumer right that cannot legally be waived.
Florida law requires retail establishments that offer no cash refund, credit refund, or exchange to conspicuously disclose that policy at the point of sale.
